CertLink Technical Requirements


Because the CertLink platform is an online assessment tool delivered via the internet, it is important that your browser and internet connection meet certain requirements, and that network security settings do not block CertLink functionality. Please check the following components to ensure an optimal experience.

UPDATED BROWSER

  • To update Google Chrome:
    1. On your computer, open Chrome.
    2. At the top right, click “More”.
    3. Click “Update Google Chrome”. If you don't see this button, you're on the latest version.
    4. Click “Relaunch”.
    5. Note: You can also download the latest version of Chrome from the official Google Chrome download page:  https://www.google.com/chrome
  • To update Microsoft Edge:
    1. The Microsoft Edge browser is tied to Windows 10 and consequently, so are its updates. To update the Edge browser, you need to update Windows.
    2. Press the “Windows Key”, type “Check” for updates, and then press “Enter”.
    3. Under the “Update Status” section, select “Check” for updates.
  • To update IE:
    1. On your computer, open Internet Explorer.
    2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner.
    3. Select “About Internet Explorer”.
    4. Check the box next to “Install New Versions Automatically”.
    5. Click “Close”.
    6. Note: You can also download the latest version of Internet Explorer from the official Microsoft Internet Explorer download page:  http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/
  • To update Firefox:
    1. Open the Mozilla Firefox browser.
    2. Click the “Open” menu button Firefox menu in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
    3. In the menu that appears, click the “Open Help Menu” Firefox help icon button at the bottom.
    4. Select “About Firefox”.
    5. The window that appears will automatically check for updates and show you the current version of Firefox. If an update is available, there will be an option to install the update.

  • To update Safari:
    1. Open the Apple menu and choose App Store.
    2. In the top of the window that appears, click the “Updates” button in the toolbar.
    3. Find Safari and click “Update” (or Update all to do every app).
    4. Note: You can also download the latest version of Safari from the official Safari download page:  https://support.apple.com/safari
  • For other browsers:

RELIABLE INTERNET

A steady, relatively high-speed connection for the duration of your assessment will help prevent technical issues. To determine if your internet connection is generally reliable go to https://sourceforge.net/speedtest/ and check your results. Whether at home or at work, you should have:

Latency/Ping:< 25ms
Download Speed:> 15 Mbps
Upload Speed:> 2 Mbps
Packet Loss:0%

If your internet connection does not meet these requirements, we recommend that you use a different network or device.

CHECK WORKPLACE SECURITY SETTINGS

If you are unable to access the platform or log in, forward these instructions to your IT Administrator at your workplace: “Please ensure that mycertlink.org is globally whitelisted, and that cookie and DOM storage are permitted for mycertlink.org”.

Check with your IT department to ask about the presence of a proxy server. While the presence of a proxy server is usually not a cause for concern, if you plan to answer questions in a workplace environment, you may also want to consider answering questions on a non-work network or computer to help ensure an optimal user experience.
